Roll Call Tribute

Charles Alvin Brown, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Charles was born December 2, 1938 in McKinney, Texas, to Venita and Ralph Brown.

 

After graduating from Pasadena High School in 1957, he received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in 1961 and his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1967. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in May 1967 and received his certification in Real Estate Residential Law in October, 1983. During his law career he was the principal partner in Charles A. Brown & Associates and a named partner in the Brown & Shapiro law firm.

 

He married Doris Elaine Burns on September 8, 1961 at Woodbridge Baptist Church in Houston. He was a member of the Houston and Pasadena Bar Associations; Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, Real Estate Section; and the Texas A&M Bar Association.

 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Doris Brown; his children, James and wife Valerie of Drippings Springs, Texas and Karen Goodsell and husband Ruben of Yorba Linda, California; and grandchildren Thomas '17, Isabella, Benjamin, Jordan, and Abbey.

 

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas 78705. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.
