Robert John Roberts, Jr.
December 21, 1964 - September 17, 2021

Sadly, Robert J. “Rob” Roberts Jr. (56) of Montgomery, TX passed away in his home on September 17, 2021 due to Covid complications.

Rob was born in Waco, TX on December 21, 1964. When Rob was young his family moved to Brownwood, TX where he would later graduate high school as Salutatorian. Rob then moved to College Station, TX and worked at Texas A&M University (TAMU). Later, in 1994 Rob earned a BBA in Business Analysis (MIS) with honors from TAMU. He furthered his education by earning an MBA in International Business from Our Lady of the Lake University. After graduating from TAMU Rob was hired as a Team Lead/Programmer at International Paper.

His professional career continued at the following businesses. Compaq Computer Corporation (96-98), Team Lead/Programmer. Stearman Group, Inc. (98-2000), Principal Consultant. EnterSys Group, LP (2000-2008), Managing Director/Partner. Axon Solutions (2008-2009), VP of Services Architecture. Leviathan Consulting (2009-2011), Principal Consultant. Sirius Solutions, LLLP (2011-2013), Director of Technology/Director of Marketing. Bokanyi Consulting, Inc. (2014-2015), Director of Oil and Gas Practice. And, most recently Opportune where he was a Director of Process and Technology.

Rob liked to challenge himself at Top Golf. He enjoyed British Dramas like Shetland and Unforgotten. He also enjoyed concerts at Dosey Doe, most recently The Gatlin Brothers. You never knew what kind of music Rob would be listening to. One day it might be Abba, the next The Eagles and then Rammstein. He was a member of Toastmasters for many, many years. He relaxed and was able to think while doing cross-stitch. Something he looked forward to every year was being a judge at The Raymond Ideas Challenge at the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship at TAMU. Above all else, Rob loved college football, especially the Aggies. Saturdays were planned around the time the Aggies were playing. He shouted and cursed the entire game.

Rob is survived by Susan '02, his wife of 33 years, his sons Andy and Shay, his daughter Samantha and granddaughter Blake. He is also survived by his parents Robert and Nancylu Roberts, his brother Ron '90 and wife Alison, nephews Hunter and Thomas and niece Maggie.
