Carl Vincent Feducia
July 10, 1946 - October 9, 2021

Carl V. Feducia enjoyed fellowshipping with his friends, loving on his family, and cheering for the Fightin' Texas Aggie football team. He was born July 10, 1946 in Shreveport, La., to Tony and Bernice (Huckaby) Feducia. Carl spent his youth waterskiing at Lake o' the Pines, playing baseball and engaging in hijinks at Fair Park High School. At a graduation party, he struck up a conversation with Dianne Willis, after their respective dates were overserved.

Carl's life changed when he enrolled at Texas A&M University and joined the Corps of Cadets. There, he rose to the rank of Battalion Commander and served in the Ross Volunteers Honor Guard. One of 11 Feducia cousins, Carl was the first in the family to graduate from college, earning his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1968. He earned a Masters in Engineering before taking his commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Carl and Dianne married on August 23, 1969 and moved to Germany where he was stationed for two years. Back home in Shreveport, Carl earned his MBA from LSU-Shreveport and joined Southern Plastics where he worked for over 25 years and secured a patent.

With their two daughters, Stacy and Kelly, Carl and Dianne explored the country, taking annual snow-skiing trips with friends. Because of his friendly nature and far-flung travels, his girls were never surprised when strangers in airports came up and asked, "Aren't you Carl Feducia?" Together, Carl and Dianne visited all 50 states.

An extremely rare neurological condition led to dementia and his passing on October 9, 2021. He will not be remembered for his death, but for his rare and shining, joyful life, and the fact that his beloved Aggies needed this 12th Man's heavenly assistance to defeat No. 1-ranked Alabama on the night he died.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife Dianne, his daughters Stacy Bertinelli '93 of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kelly Hodgson '95 of Shreveport; his sons-in-law Patrick Bertinelli and Gene Hodgson; his grandchildren Carl and GraceAnne Hodgson; and his sister Diane Loftin of Zachary, La., as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Anna Marie Feducia Evanoff on October 6, 2021.

Ever the helper, Carl donated his body and brain to LSU Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Couch Chapel, First United Methodist Church, in Shreveport. Masks are required, per Louisiana public health guidelines.
