Glenn Jameson Miller
July 15, 1954 – October 9, 2021

Glenn Jameson Miller was called home to be with his Lord & Savior on October 9, 2021.

Glenn was born at the James Connally Air Force Base Hospital in Waco, Texas on July 15, 1954 and spent all of his 67 years living life to the fullest with a positive attitude and smile on his face.

Glenn joined NASA in 1984 as a structural engineer and never retired. He enjoyed the uniqueness of the job and the people he worked with throughout the years. He viewed every problem as a challenge to be overcome and his knowledge and determination contributed greatly to the Space Shuttle Program and recent SpaceX launches.

Glenn's greatest joy, however, was his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and “Grampy". Glenn married his wife, Karen, in 1980 and together they raised their two sons in Friendswood, Texas. Glenn was able to share his problem solving skills with his sons through countless garage & backyard building projects and their many sailing, kayaking, and camping adventures. Grampy had already started this same training process with his grandkids and was very much looking forward to doing more with each one of them in the future.

Glenn spent many Saturdays in recent years working with the Friendswood United Methodist “Weekend Warriors” group doing whatever was needed to help out those in his community whose homes were in need of repairs or needed wheelchair ramps built. It was his way of putting his faith into action.

Glenn was preceded in death by his father Don Miller, mother Ann Miller and brother Donn Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Miller '78 of Friendswood, Texas, son Jason Miller '08 and wife Shawn Miller of Fairbanks, Alaska, son Eric Miller '08 of Anchorage, Alaska, grandchildren Henry (7), Walter (6) and Molly (3) all of Fairbanks Alaska. Also stepmother, Esther Miller, brother Kenn Miller and wife Danielle Miller, Aunt & Uncle Rex & Sallie Sandifer, niece Holly Dockal '06, nephew Donn Miller '15 and many loving and supportive cousins all living in Texas.

A memorial service for Glenn will take place at Friendswood United Methodist Church at 2 pm on Monday, October 18, 2021 in Wesley Hall, off of FM 2351. There will be a family and friends gathering with coffee and desserts before the service at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Friendswood United Methodist Church with a designation memo to Weekend Warriors for Glenn or to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church / designation memo Endowment Fund.

Glenn and his family have been very blessed to have the spiritual care and support of both the Friendswood United Methodist Church and the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Nassau Bay.
