David Charles Snyder
January 30, 1959 ~ August 29, 2021 (age 62)

David Charles Snyder, 62, of Smithville, Texas passed away August 29th, 2021.

David was born January 30, 1959, to Charles Anthony Snyder and Mary Katherine Scouten Snyder, in Cuba, New York. He was married to Camilla Christine Jackson. David graduated from Texas A&M University, in College Station, with his B.S. in Engineering Technology and Welding Technology. David started his career at Chicago Bridge and Iron, who recognized his talent quickly. He worked as Chief Inspector and Senior Inspection Coordinator for Worley Parsons. David worked all over the world for many of the major international engineering companies.

David grew up in Channelview, Texas, where he met his forever love Cammy. They became high school sweethearts and were married on July 14, 1979. David was an avid athlete in High School, lettering in baseball and football, but baseball was his true passion. David was a Little League coach and was able touch the lives of so many children along the way. He was also a deacon at Memorial Baptist Church in Channelview. He loved to travel and his work took him all over the world. David devoted his life to his family. His grandchildren loved their grandpa and he enjoyed spending time doing whatever they loved. From the time they were born they were inseparable. To his children, Jonathan and Christin, he was the best dad and friend, teaching them so many life lessons along the way.

David was a Coke, M&M, and NASCAR fanatic. He always had a supply of candy stashed away somewhere in the house. He surely owned stock in peanut butter M&M’s and his grandkids knew where to find them. He enjoyed going to the races and even got to live out his dream by driving a retired NASCAR at the Texas Motor Speedway. Recently, he had visited the World of Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta and enjoyed every minute of it. He loved vintage cars and learning about the history behind them. He planned to spend time cruising in his SSR truck after retiring, with Cammy, seeing the country.

David was proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Snyder.

David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Camilla Jackson Snyder; his children Jonathan '05 and Victoria Snyder of Lincoln, Texas, Christin Snyder of Smithville, Texas; his brothers and sisters, Mary and Joe Posern of Austin, Texas, William and Elizabeth Snyder of Pasadena, Texas, Patrick and Amanda Snyder of Brookshire, Texas, Joseph and Tonya Snyder of Smithville, Texas; his grand children, Abigail Snyder, Nathan Snyder, and Katelyn Snyder, of Lincoln; 34 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great great nieces and nephews with one on the way.

The family would like to thank Brenda Abbott for her support.
