Roll Call Tribute

Robert "Bob" Schultz '44 September 27, 2021 1:31 PM updated: September 27, 2021 1:39 PM

Robert Lee Schultz
June 16, 1921 - September 25, 2021

Robert Lee Schultz passed away peacefully on September 25th at the youthful age of 100!

We could all be so lucky to live such an amazing life as his. One of the last of the greatest American generation. A generation not afraid of hard work or fearful of death. A generation full of selfless men and women who sacrificed and paved the way for our freedom that I pray we continue to fight for today.

He was a war hero, a proud member of and bugle player in the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ‘44, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, an amazing JCPenney manager for many years, and the hardest working, most honest, wonderful man around. A true American hero.

Rest peacefully and enjoy your wonderful welcome home from all who have gone home before you. Thank you for a lifetime of love and wisdom. Thank you for your service. Thank you for being my Tata. Love you more than words can say.

Softly call the Muster,
Let comrade answer, “Here!”
Their spirits hover ‘round us
As if to bring us cheer!

Mark them ‘present’ in our hearts.
We’ll meet some other day
There is no death, but life etern
For our old friends such as they!
-Aggie “Roll Call for the Absent”
