Charles "Ted" Edward Gibbs II, born March 9, 1947 in Knoxville, TN, passed away on September 7, 2021 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 74.

As the son of an U.S. Air Force officer, Ted grew up all over the country from Bangor, Maine to Spokane, Washington. In 1965 he graduated from Bellevue High School in Nebraska. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Texas A&M University in 1969. After his time at A&M, he moved to the Houston area, where he spent several years working as a CPA. His job brought him to the San Antonio area, where he would meet his wife, Mary. They married in 1985, and later that year, they bought a house in Schertz, TX that would be his home until his passing.

Ted loved his job as the senior accountant for the Child Nutrition Department at Judson ISD. When he was not at work, he greatly enjoyed golf, playing it frequently in his younger years. He was a proud Aggie and always kept up with A&M football games. Ted cherished visiting with family. He frequented San Antonio Spurs basketball games with his sons, Mark, Ryan, and Travis. He would often to travel the Dallas area to visit his daughter, Kelsey, and play with her cat, Enchilada. He always loved talking with his eldest daughters, Rachel and Emily, and getting updates about his grandchildren.

Ted is preceded in death by his father, Charles Gibbs; granddaughter, Rose Conner; father-in-law, Robert Bauml; mother-in-law, Leatrice Bauml; and sister-in-law, Lou Ann DeMartino

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Gibbs (née Bauml); children, Rachel Rhodes (Tim), Emily Conner (Gareth), Kelsey Gibbs, Mark Gibbs, Ryan Gibbs, and Travis Gibbs; mother, Dorothy Gibbs; brothers, Joe Gibbs (Sandy), David Gibbs (Marilee), and Ray Gibbs (Betsey); five grandchildren, and several siblings-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 17, 2021, 11:00am, at the Schertz Funeral Home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to The Tomorrow Fund or National Adrenal Diseases Foundation in Ted's honor.
