Dr. Chmaitelli (or “Dr. C”) is the owner and Chief Veterinary Officer at Garden Oaks Veterinary Clinic. He graduated in 1997 from Texas A&M with his Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine and from College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, and then spent time working in Large Animal and Equine Hospitals before opening his first practice in East Texas. He eventually sold his first practice to move back to his hometown of Houston, where he established GOVC in 2015.

Dr. Chmaitelli founded GOVC with the intent of creating a “different” veterinary experience by providing a modern, clean facility and taking time to educate clients and become partners in their pet’s health. It was also important to Dr. C that GOVC set a standard of excellence and become accredited with the American Animal Hospital Association, which we achieved in December 2016.

Along with GOVC, he owns A to Z Exotics & Capture, which provides services to African Game ranches across the state. Dr. C is very passionate about being involved in the community, and he currently serves on the City of Houston Animal Shelter Advisory Committee & the Texas Veterinary Medical Association Government Relations Committee. He was also elected as the Harris County Representative to the Board of Directors.

A formal obituary is forthcoming.
