Max Floyd Rountree
March 6, 1941 - August 8, 2021

Max Floyd Rountree, age 80, of Oklahoma City was called to Christ and passed away on early Sunday, August 8th, 2021.

Max was preceded in death by his wife Martha Rountree.

Max is survived by his daughter Margaret “ Marky” Rountree, two granddaughters, Melody (Frank) Kee and Mayan Young, and two great granddaughters, Ava Kee and Aliyah Kee.

Max was loved and cherished by family and friends. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Architectural studies. He was involved in multiple construction projects including the Aquatica Park at the OKC Zoo. He also helped Alcohol & Drug Recovery at the Team Challenge program.

Max had several hobbies such as calligraphy, fishing, hunting, fencing, did hang gliding at Nagshead, North Carolina, and even raced the family car the “Colt 45” in a race. He was involved in his daughter’s life from Campfire Girls, playing games after dinner when the TV had broken down (for months), and going to Six Flags of Texas to ride the roller coasters.

Max was a true believer in God. He lived and breathed Christ’s teachings. He struggled reading because he was dyslectic and taught himself to read better by reading the Bible. He travelled the world speaking about Christ in Belize, Indonesia, India, China, Hong Kong, and Kenya. His Prison Ministry at Mable Bassett (Women’s) and Joseph Hart (Men’s) was for spreading the Gospel. He has brought so many people to Christ from the stranger on the street to those that just couldn’t take the next step to know Christ and receive his salvation.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 from 10am to 8pm CST at the McNeil’s Funeral Home in Mustang, Oklahoma. Services will be held on Friday, August 13th, 2021 at 10am CST at Capitol Hill Assembly of God of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma by Pastor Eddy Brewer.

A live stream will be provided on the church’s website/Facebook and YouTube. This will be followed by Graveside at Mustang Cemetery, Mustang, Oklahoma.
