July 8, 1940 – August 3, 2021

Gary Kit Voss, 81, of Bryan, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside, on August 3, 2021. Gary was born July 8, 1940 in Jonesboro, Texas, to Harry Schloeman and Lenora Carpenter Voss. Gary had a happy childhood, growing up on the family farm. He attended school in Jonesboro but transferred to Gatesville to participate in FFA and athletics, he graduated in May of 1958.

He attended Texas A&M in 1959, graduating May, 1963 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Gary loved A&M, he was a member of the Corps of Cadets, and was involved in many clubs associated with the University, as well as The Association of Former Students. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying game days, basketball, baseball and football. After graduation, Gary remained a lifelong die-hard fan of his Aggies, his favorite colors were maroon and white.

In June 1964, Gary was employed as an insurance agent by Allstate Insurance Company, Gary remained with Allstate and served the Bryan community for the next 37 years. He retired, December 31, of 2001.

Gary leaves behind a deep legacy through his family, he is survived by his son, Timothy Kit Voss; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie Voss-Konderla and Jimmy, Jennifer Jones '03 and Albert, Tammy Chewning and Chip; grandchildren, Kristal Millsap, Tony K Voss, Wesley Konderla, Cory Konderla, Ashley Konderla, Robby Hawkins and Trinity Chewning; great-grandchildren, Dayton, Anthony, Natalee, Madilyn, Chase, Jamie and Josie.

Funeral services are entrusted to Memorial Funeral Chapel of Bryan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 9, at 10:00am at Bethel Baptist Church, located at 9900 SH 30, in College Station. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph Manor and Hospice for their exceptional care they gave Gary. Memorials may be made in Gary’s honor to Still Creek Ranch, 6055 Hearne Rd, Bryan, TX 77808.
