Mary Kathryn Jenkins Wilborn Mayo
March 21, 1979 - July 19, 2021

On Monday, July 19, Mary Kathryn Jenkins Wilborn Mayo passed from this life and went to be with Jesus. Mary courageously fought melanoma for over five years, and was an example to every doctor, nurse and patient she encountered. She was one of a kind -- a loyal and hilarious friend, fierce supporter, lover and defender of her family, always choosing fun over everything else, and the clearest example of Philippians 1:21 that we have ever known: To live is Christ, and to die is gain. Heaven has always been her home.

She was a student at Texas A&M and received her Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Program from the College of Education. She was also a resident of Underwood Hall. She graduated as a member of the Class of 2001.

Mary is survived by her husband, Geno Mayo, her children, Ty Wilborn and Charlie Wilborn, parents Jim and Pam Jenkins, sister, Emmy Donovan, brother, Graham Jenkins, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Sean Wilborn, and her youngest daughter, Joy Wilborn, who passed in 2019 at 10 years old. Through loss, Mary demonstrated her undeniable faith and put her hope in the fact that each day she was #OneDayCloser to reuniting with Joy in heaven. Imagining that reunion is sweet comfort for those who loved Mary most.

A memorial fund has been set up to honor Mary’s life and will be used to support Ty and Charlie with whatever needs they may have, and to donate toward causes that were dear to Mary and her family. Please consider a donation in any amount, and/or sharing this link with your friends. Pray for Geno, Charlie and Ty as they mourn this terrible loss. Mary’s family and friends find hope in knowing that we are #OneDayCloser to reuniting with our beloved, loyal and faithful sister in Christ.
