Larry William Keneda
August 14, 1962 – July 15, 2021

Larry William Keneda, known to his friends as Bill, was born on August 14, 1962, in Houston, Texas. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones on July 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bronson and Marie Keneda. He is survived by his loving wife Tonya, their daughter Kaitlyn, sister Cathy Wyman (Stephen), nephew Nathan Wyman, sister-in-law Marci Larrat (Ed), and nephews Jackson and Bronson Larrat.

Bill graduated from Spring Branch Senior High School, Class of 1980. He was a proud drummer in his high school marching band, the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church youth group band, and the Texas A&M Jazz Band. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering. He worked in his field for his entire career, traveling the world. Bill and Tonya were married in Las Vegas in 1998 and built their house together in Cypress, Texas in 2001. They were blessed to have Kaitlyn, their “one little miracle”, in 2003.

He loved driving his 1970 Roadrunner and could do anything, including automotive, millwork, electrical, construction, plumbing, etc. His happy place was his family’s beach house in Jamaica Beach, Galveston. Bill loved fishing, driving his boat, and taking his dogs, Biscuit and Pepper, to the beach with his wife and daughter. His passion was watching sports and NASCAR on TV. This is confirmed by the permanent indent he made on the couch. His favorite teams were the Astros, Texans, Rockets, and of course the A&M football team. He loved watching Kaitlyn play volleyball since she was 7 years old.

Bill survived an aortic dissection and stroke in 2008, cardiac arrest in 2018, four open-heart surgeries, and many additional procedures. He was a fighter until the very end, surviving the toughest of surgeries to be with his loved ones. Bill liked to brag that he had the thickest file in his cardiologist’s office. He did everything he could to be there for his family, and they feel blessed that God gave them all the time they had with him. Bill was incredibly smart and funny, and he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. His family is grateful for all of the love and support from their community. Bill cared deeply for everyone he knew, and this world won’t be the same without him. Please see below for service details.
