January 12, 1930 - January 9, 2021

Memorial graveside services for Robert E. Patrick, age 90, of Mt. Sylvan, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. January 16, 2021 at the Mt. Sylvan Cemetery with Rev. Danny Carter officiating. Robert passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 in Tyler, Texas. He was born January 12, 1930 in Mt. Sylvan to the late B.T. and Lillie (Washburn) Patrick. Robert was a lifelong resident of Mt. Sylvan and was a member of the Mt. Sylvan United Methodist Church. He earned an Agricultural Degree from Texas A&M University and later served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Robert was the owner/operator of Patrick’s Grocery Store and worked for a number of years as a paralegal. He was a member of the masonic lodge, served as President of the Lindale School Board for 17 years, and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and reading. Robert was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Patrick '82; brothers, John Patrick, Washburn Patrick, Kendall Patrick, and Wayne Patrick; and sister, Ora Fuller.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Arlene Patrick of Mt. Sylvan; sons, Glen Patrick and his wife, Denise of Mt. Sylvan and Mark Patrick '82 and his wife, Carey of Allen, Texas; daughter-in-law, Melinda Patrick of Magnolia, Texas; grandchildren, Dallas Patrick, Devan Patrick, Dakota Patrick, Robert Patrick, Dylan Patrick, Travis Patrick, Carissa Gandhi, Lorena Patrick, and Ella Patrick; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to the Hospice of East Texas Homeplace, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.

As a COVID-19 precaution, masks are required at all visitations and funeral services.
