William Boyd Fry, Jr.
June 28, 1933 - May 3, 2021

William ("Bill") Boyd Fry, Jr., 87, of Houston, Texas went to be with Jesus on May 3, 2021 as he was surrounded by his family.

Bill was born to Dorothy and William Fry on June 28, 1933 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Reagan High School in 1951 and then Texas A & M University in 1955 and served in the United States Army.

Bill enjoyed his career in public accounting, real estate investing, and estate planning. After retirement he served the College of Biblical Studies in accounting. For many years he served as the Administrator of the United Church Athletic League (UCAL) where his work made a difference in the lives of thousands of kids as they played soccer, basketball, and baseball and learned many valuable life lessons. He is a former member of River Oaks Country Club where he loved to play tennis with his dear friends, and the Houston Yacht Club where he enjoyed taking his wife and family for a spin around the bay and racing catamarans. He was a member of Bethel Church for almost 50 years and served the church in many capacities, including as an elder. His greatest joy in life was to know Christ and to see his children and grandchildren walking in truth. It was a great honor for him to visit those who were in hospital and pray with them, as he witnessed the Lord's healing in many ways over the years. He was passionately committed to his prison ministry where he loved to share the redeeming news of Jesus with convicted felons, grading Bible lessons and writing personal notes of encouragement.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Adrienne; his children, Rebecca Whitney and husband Jim, son Ford Fry and wife Stacy, daughter Jennifer VanLoh and husband Wil; grandchildren, Isaac Whitney, Grace Thweatt and husband Johnson, Austin Fry, Lucy Whitney, Sarah VanLoh, Hannah Whitney, Anders Fry, Sam Whitney, Mary VanLoh, and John Whitney; great-grandson William Thweatt; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dana and Craig Stewart, 3 nieces, and 7 great nieces and nephews.

His memorial service will be held at Bethel Church, 825 Bering Dr., Houston, Texas 77057 on May 7 at 3:00 with Dr. Dwain Camp presiding. His graveside service will be held at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023, on Saturday, May 8 at 10:00 with Rev. Clay Holland officiating.
