Donnie Vance Yates of Kyle, Texas entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the age of 72. He was born to Vance Grady Yates and Frances Arlene Crew Yates on September 7, 1948 in Brady, Texas.

Donnie Vance, who was called Don by his family and friends was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from Mary Carroll High School. He attended Texas A&M University in Bryan/ College Station and remained a proud Aggie throughout his life.

He loved visiting his grandparents, Grady "Pop" and Eunice "Mom" Yates, on their ranch in Placid, Texas throughout his life until their death.

He was a fun loving, friendly man with a great sense of humor who never met a stranger. His outgoing personality served him well with his career in sales.

He was an avid reader who, if you were ever on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", you would want him as one of your life lines. It did not matter what you asked him, he knew the correct answer. He also loved anything about aviation and WWII.
Don is preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother, Derrick Grady Yates.

He is survived by his children, Heather Nicole Yates Boudreaux (Lloyd), Ashley Nicole "Nikki" Yates O'Shay (Forrest) and Whitney Vanessa Yates McKain (Shane); his siblings, sister, Danna Gayle Yates Crutchfield (John "Crutch") and brother, Danny Dewain Yates (Julie); grandchildren, Aubrey, Emma, Landon, and Paige Boudreaux, Tate, Lane, and Ryan O'Shay, Killian and Kieran McKain; his lifelong best friend Mike Kaspar (Susie) and a host of other extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity, in memory of Don.

An outdoor Celebration of Life will be held at Spicewood Vineyards, beginning at 1:00 PM, on Friday, March 12, 2021. All Covid 19 protocols will be in place with social distancing and masks required. Address: 1419 Co Rd 409, Spicewood, TX 78669; (830) 693-5328.
