Douglas John Angiel
December 31, 1984 - August 14, 2020
The Star Wars King, Douglas Angiel passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, August 14, 2020. Doug loved pizza, game nights, fantasy football, and anything Star Wars. Doug is the husband to Jordan Chatelle Angiel '09, and father to Benjamin John Angiel and Luke Allen Angiel. He was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend.
Doug is survived by his wife of seven years, two sons Ben and Luke, Father John Angiel, Mother Michelle Angiel, Brother David (Taylor) Angiel, Brother Dustin (Jamie) Angiel, Brothers-in-law Patrick (Cat) Dickerson, Zach Dickerson, and James Petroski, Parents-in-law Terry Dickerson and Bill (Debbie) Dickerson, Grandmother Sue Grandi, Niece’s Tessa and Kate Angiel, and many other family and friends.
Doug is preceded in death by his grandfather Edward John Angiel, grandmother Lee Angiel, grandfather Gerald Miller Senior, and step grandfather Richard Grandi.
Doug was born in Dallas and lived in Garland, TX, until middle school when the family moved to Rockwall, TX, where he graduated from Rockwall High School. From there he attended Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor's of Science in Agricultural Leadership and Development. He then attended Blinn College where he graduated with his Associates in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program in 2012. Fourteen years ago while attending Texas A&M he met the love of his life, Jordan Dickerson Angiel, and they both became Aggies for life. Through college at Texas A&M and Blinn he worked at CHI St Joseph Rehabilitation Center as a Rehab Technician where he fell in love with the Therapy world, and made lifelong friends. After Graduation from PTA school he went on to work at the CHI St Joseph Hospital system in Madisonville, TX. A few years later he became a Clinical Liaison for CHI St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center an affiliation with Encompass Health, and was quickly promoted to Senior Liaison for the same company. He has worked in the healthcare field for over 10 years supporting the Bryan/College Station and surrounding community. Doug has impacted several people in the community, including patients, co-workers, family, and friends. Doug was a stranger to no one, and always had a way to make you feel welcome. Doug was the biggest Star Wars fan, and instilled that nerdiness into his two sons and all his friends. He enjoyed his bro dates and his man-date Thursdays with his buddies. There were always friendly competitions between his brothers and friends on video games like Mario Cart, Star Wars Battlefront, and Call of Duty. He enjoyed playing fantasy football, poker, board games, shooting targets, and spending time with his family and friends.
Doug’s Viewing and Funeral arrangements will be held at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Rockwall, TX. Due to current Texas Department of Health Restrictions, the Viewing and Funeral will be limited.
