Robert “Bob” Henry Bynes
July 4, 1930 - April 19, 2021
Surrounded by his family, Robert “Bob” Henry Bynes, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021.
He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas. Father Bertie Pearson of Grace Episcopal Church will officiate at the graveside service on Thursday, April 22nd, under the direction of Ramsey Funeral Home
of Georgetown, Texas.
Born on July 4, 1930 in Denver, Colorado, Bob attended Texas A&M University on a track scholarship and graduated with a degree in Architecture.
Bob married his highs school sweetheart, Gayle Mackie, in 1952, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1954. He was retired ad a Lt. Colonel after a 20 year career and was distinguished with a USAF Commendation Medal for is performance as a Civil Engineering
officer.
Lt. Col. Bynes is survived by his devoted wife, Gayle, of 68 years; four sons: Sandy, Kerry, Chris and Craig; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
