Linda A. Picha Hardin
December 09, 1971 - March 24, 2021

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, Linda Picha Hardin left this world to go to her Lord and Savior. Strong, authentic, vivacious, feisty, hilarious, and loyal are just a few words that describe Linda’s spirit. She loved God with all her heart, and that was clear by the joy she lived with every day. 

Linda was born on December 9th, 1971, in Austin, Texas, and was adopted at birth by Dorothy and Louis Picha of Riesel, Texas. She attended Riesel High School where she played basketball, served as the band drum major, and graduated as valedictorian. She then attended the only good university in Texas: Texas A&M, where she met the love of her life, Jeremy. She was a die-hard Aggie and had a propensity to wear a lot of maroon. She donated her time as a Ring Day volunteer for all the Aggies getting their ring. You would know better than to interrupt her during an Aggie football game, and the family loyalty was sealed when both her sons followed in their parents’ footsteps. It was there that she majored in Education and where her heart for children was revealed through imageher amazing creativity, empathy, and child-like zest for life. She would stop at nothing to make teaching fun, including dressing up, trying different accents and lots of laughter both in school and in church.

Shortly after her graduation in May 1994, Linda and Jeremy married and lived briefly in Charlottesville, Virginia, before moving to Houston, Texas. Linda taught 4th grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Hearne Elementary (Alief ISD) and Ault Elementary (Cy Fair ISD) for several years until she retired after having her first son, Caleb. Several years later, Jonathan was born, and their family was complete. Soon after Jonathan’s birth, they spent a short year in Lafayette, Louisiana, before moving back to Houston as soon as they could.

Linda filled her time being a mom to her boys, volunteering at their schools and their church, and studying God’s word both in her private time and in Community Bible Study. She always attributed all things to God’s Glory and found strength in Him in her ailments, including her 19-year battle with Scleroderma. More recently, she began substituting at her local elementary school where her talents were quickly recognized, and she became a teacher favorite.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother and father, Dorothy and Louis Picha. She is survived by her husband, Jeremy Hardin, her sons, Caleb and Jonathan, her brother and wife, Justin and Anna Picha, and several nieces and nephews who have all attended Linda’s “Cousin Camp” one summer or another. Linda constantly reminded her boys by her words and by her actions to “shine their light.” Think how strong her light is now!

Join us in a true celebration of her life, joy and spirit:
• Reception will be 6pm to 8pm on Friday, March 26th - Copperfield Church entrance and foyer.
• Celebration of Life Service will be at 9:30am Saturday, March 27th - Copperfield Church Lawn. If you would like, bring your own chair. Maroon attire optional.
