Charles Dean Swinson, 89 of Hattiesburg, Mississippi went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 15th, 2021.
Funeral services took place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 22 at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, TX, with Pastor John Little officiating.
Burial followed at Vashti Cemetery in Vashti, TX.
Charles was born April 26, 1931 in Bowie, TX to Carl D. and Vernon Dora (Bullard) Swinson. He received a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Texas A&M, and worked as a Petroleum Engineer for Gulf Oil and Chevron, he truly loved his work. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf.
Charles was a devoted Methodist Christian, and he will be remembered with love and appreciation for being a devoted, father, grandfather and all-around family man.
He is preceded in death by his by wife Naomi Ruth Swinson, parents, brother Marvin Swinson, and grandson Blaze D. Baker.
Charles is survived by his daughter Lisa Susan Baker and husband Bobby; son David Swinson and wife Elizabeth; grandson Kyle Baker; brothers Curtis Swinson and wife Susan and Weldon Swinson and wife Lucita; and numerous nieces and nephews.
