February 28, 1940 - November 23, 2020

Larry James Valigura, 80, of Caldwell, passed away at his home Monday, November 23, 2020. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10 am. Father Melvin Dornak will officiate over Mass with assistance from Deacon John Young. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home Friday, November 27, from 3 to 7 pm. Rosary will be recited at 6 pm under the leadership of Father Jesse Paul Martinez.

Larry Valigura was born in Burleson County, on February 28, 1940 to parents Paul Valigura Jr. and wife Alma (Boehme) Valigura. Larry was a graduate of Caldwell High School and went to Texas A&M College. He was married to the love of his life Janet Hovorak on June 17, 1961 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Caldwell. After graduating from Texas A&M in 1962, he went to work for Pan American Oil Company as an accountant. Larry later moved back to Caldwell and managed the Keller Chair and Ladder Company until he became the Director of Finance for the Texas A&M University System. Larry later moved to the position of Assistant Director of Facilities Administration for Texas A&M University System until his retirement in 2000. Larry was one of the founding members of Knights of Columbus Council #6366 in Caldwell and was very active in this organization.

Larry enjoyed woodworking in his shop, beating everyone in 42 and spending his retirement being with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Valigura Jr. and Alma (Boehme) Valigura.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Janet Lois Valigura; two daughters, Sharon Kovar '86 and husband David, and Donna Muzny '78 and husband Edward; grandchildren, Hannah Kovar '15, Hayden Kovar, Travis Muzny '15 and wife Sara Beth, and Taylor Muzny.

Pallbearers will include Pat Morgan, Gene Wisniewski, Vance McManus, Hubert Polansky, John Kucera, and Larry See. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sam Perry, Bill Briggs, Bill Orsak and Andy Sandoval.

The service will be life streamed on St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell facebook page.
