William "Bill" F. Ellerbrock
November 29, 1958 ~ June 1, 2016 (age 57)

William "Bill" F. Ellerbrock died suddenly on June 1, 2016 at home. Bill was born in Houston, Texas on November 29, 1958 to Frank and Eloise Ellerbrock. He attended Holy Ghost Catholic School, Jane Long Junior High and Bellaire High School. Bill graduated from the finest school in Texas as a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of '81 (whoop!) where he followed in his father, uncle and brother's footsteps.

Bill met Julie Bybee, the love of his life at A&M. They were acquaintances for years before they fell in love in 1984. They were married on February 15, 1986 in Houston, then were soon transferred to Dallas. They moved back to Houston in 1991 to be close to family, followed by a 3 A? year assignment in Dubai. His other loves of his life were his children, Taylor and Cole, who are members of the A&M Classes of '12 and '15. Bill was so proud of and humbled by his children and their faith, their character, their servant hearts and their work-hard spirit.

Bill had a big heart to serve. He followed in his father's footsteps and served as a coach with Special Olympics for many years. He coached his children and their teams in baseball and softball at Westbury Little League and club teams, as well as many basketball and soccer teams. He never missed his children's sports, dance or school events, (except for the occasional long, hot swim meet at Maplewood)! He also served with Church Under the Bridge. He felt especially called to serve in his church, St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where he was a Stephen Minister for many years, Lead Usher in Encounter Worship and a Kid's Pal. Then, he served in countless "other duties as assigned" by Julie and her team in Children's Ministries. Bill was always available to help a neighbor, family, friend or someone he had just met. He made everyone feel important and their need was his priority.

Bill was always up for any adventure and had an infectious laugh and smile. The annual Turkey Bowl with his college buddies and their children filled his heart with great memories, (and injuries), every year. He loved to golf and fish with his buddies. It was the time they spent together that mattered most; although, Bill was a great "fish story" teller (that fish was 90' long by the time he got home and had several hole-in-ones). His other passion was gardening, especially in his backyard where Julie and Bill loved to be. He was the first to give you a compliment, to remember your birthday or to let you know how special you were. He was the favorite uncle, brother and friend.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ellerbrock('45) in 1984 and his mother, Eloise Ellerbrock in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Julie('84); daughter, Taylor('12); and son, Coleman('15); his brother, Jimmy and his wife, Scottie Ellerbrock; his brother, Mike ('74) and his wife, Sue Ellerbrock; his sister, Karen Ellerbrock; nieces Monica and her husband, Ike Belk, Abbey Miller and Cari Miller; nephews Michael and his wife, Rose Ehrhart, Jacob Ellerbrock and Nick Miller; great nephews, Gabriel and Benjamin Ehrhart; parents-in-law Tom and Donna Bybee; sister and brother-in-law Lori and Russ Miller; as well as many beloved relatives, friends and his best doggy pal, Sammy.

He worked in the Oil and Gas industry throughout his career and most recently served as Vice President of Business Development for Ref-Chem, where he truly felt at home. We thank them for their love and support.

We will remember Bill and his love for Jesus Christ and are comforted in knowing he is joyfully walking in the presence of his Savior. We are so thankful for the outpouring of love, cries of prayers on our behalf, support, and community surrounding us.

A celebration worship service will be held Monday, June 6 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon in the sanctuary of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas, with a reception immediately following. A private burial will precede the worship service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Young Life Brazos Valley, 1103 Anderson Street, Suite 101
