He attended Texas A&M University and graduated with the Class of 1977 with a degree in Horticulture.
He has worked at San Antonio Zoological Society, San Antonio Botanical Garden, Urban Forestry, and Tree Mitigation & Park Operations in different roles as a Horticulturist.
He is survived by his wife and children, as well as other extended family members.
