Scott Howard Michaelsen
April 5, 1963 - November 27, 2020

Scott Howard Michaelsen of Cedar Park, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020, at the age of 57. He was born on April 5, 1963 in Phoenix, Arizona, to Leon Charles and Frances Echols Michaelsen.

When Scott was a year old, his family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, for a short time. The family later moved to Houston, Texas, where Scott, the youngest of three, grew up with his siblings. While in Houston, Scott attended Bunker Hill Elementary, Spring Branch Junior High, and Memorial High School. He also enjoyed the Boy Scouts and attained the level of Eagle Scout. Following in the footsteps of his father and brother, Scott took his interest in Math and Science to Texas A&M University, where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Class of 1985. Scott began working for Industrial Sensors & Instruments while still in college; he worked there 37 years, until his death.

Scott met his wife of 21 years, Sheila Blevins Michaelsen, through an online source, when online dating was in its infancy. Though they lived four hours apart, he enjoyed going to spend time with her every weekend. Eventually they married and settled in Round Rock, Texas. They raised 2 children, Blake Anthony Jones and Brittany Michaelsen-Mulkey. Scott and his wife enjoyed spending time doing genealogy and tracing the family tree through multiple trips across the East coast, doing research into the family histories. Family was always important to Scott and he enjoyed spending as much time as he could at home with his family.

Scott is survived by his wife, Sheila Blevins Michaelsen of Cedar Park, Texas, his son Blake Anthony Jones of Vancouver, Washington, his daughter Brittany Michaelsen-Mulkey, and husband, Stephen, of Midlothian, Virginia; his sister Melanie Michaelsen Blanks, and husband, Chuck, of Missouri City, Texas, and his brother Brian Charles Michaelsen, and wife, Tammy, of Beaumont, Texas. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Mary Blevins, of Bayou Vista, Texas; his aunts and uncles, Keville and Eloise Larson of Mobile, Alabama, and Frank and Ann Echols, of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Leon Charles Michaelsen and mother, Frances Echols Michaelsen. He was also preceded in death by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial services to celebrate Scott's well-lived life, will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
