Roberto “Bobo” Quintanilla, age 58 of Harlingen, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020. He was born May 6, 1962 in Laredo, Texas to Eugenio and Rosa Maria Quintanilla.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Quintanilla; three sons, Robert Joseph Quintanilla, Edward Gene Quintanilla, and Jason Kyle Quintanilla; granddaughter, Emma; parents, Eugenio and Rosa Maria Quintanilla of Hebbronville, TX; siblings, Rosie (Dwayne) Hofstetter of Kingsville, TX, Terri (Jaime) Alaniz of Los Fresnos, TX, Geno (Pinky) Quintanilla of Hebbronville, TX, Belle (Scott) Cooper of Round Rock, TX, and Ginna Quintanilla of Boerne, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; as well as extended family members.
Robert attended Hebbronville High School and continued his education at Texas A&M University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology.
He worked at Lockheed Martin as an Engineering Planner for many years, then continued his career as a contract consulting engineer for various firms. After his retirement, he worked at Texas State Technical College as a recruiter.
In his free time Bobo enjoyed fishing, traveling, BBQ-ing, hunting, dancing, singing, storytelling, gambling, camping, spending quality time with his family, and constantly making everyone laugh. He was the life of the party and could light up any room with his smile. No one was a stranger, just a friend he hadn’t met yet.
Closed casket, limited visitation with required face coverings and strict social distancing will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Trinity Funeral Homes; Chapel Service at 2:00pm with Pastor Jorge Sotomayor officiating. Interment will follow to Ashland Cemetery, 21037 Godwin Road, Harlingen, TX 78550 at 3:00pm.
