Jerry Brock
OCTOBER 10, 1930 – DECEMBER 30, 2020

Obituary of Jerry Brock
Jerrold Ray Brock, age 90, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. He leaves his wife of 66 years, Bonita, three children and their spouses; Brad and Linda Brock, Phil and Lorin Spotts, Todd and Diana brock, 14 grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren, with their 25th on the way!

Jerrold, otherwise known as “Jerry, Dad, and Grandpops” was born in Vernon, Texas on October 10, 1930 to Billie C. and Chester Brock. In the summer of 1941 at the age of 11, Jerry met 8-year-old Bonita Caston at the Chillicothe swimming pool. It was love at first site. They were sweethearts for almost 80 years.

Jerry graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1948 and then attended Texas A&M until the Korean War broke out. He chose to volunteer and join the air force. He was a flight chief and drill instructor at Shepherd Air Force Base in Wichita Falls. While in the Air Force Jerry and Bo were married on April 3, 1954. After being released from the Air Force Jerry and Bo moved to Houston. Jerry graduated from the University of Houston, but he has always considered himself to be a full-fledged Aggie. His love for ATM was passed on to his children and grandchildren as there are 17 family members (so far) that have attended.

In 1956, Jerry went to work for his Uncle Cecil at Service Painting Company. He eventually purchased the company and renamed it The Brock Group. In Jerry’s lifetime he had the privilege of seeing his company grow from 30 employees to over 17,000. Though Jerry loved the company he believed that your “work” should not define you. There is so much more! He was loved his family and was the gold standard for being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, faithful friend and Christ follower.

In 1942, as a 12 year old, Jerry gave his heart and life to Jesus at RA camp. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, taught Bible Study for over 40 years, served as a deacon for 6 decades, and was an avid soul winner for Christ.

He and Bonita spent their most precious times at their ranch in the Hill Country. His favorite days included feeding his deer, fishing on the lake, mowing on his tractor – all with family and friends. The Lord was so sweet to grant Jerry his wish to draw his last breath at Whisper Valley.

Jerry, Dad, and Grandpops was deeply loved and will be greatly missed, but his beautiful legacy will forever live on as we strive to ‘love God and His people’ as Jerry did.
