Paul Harwood Miller
June 26, 1951 - January 06, 2021

Paul Harwood Miller of Hondo passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 at the age of 69.

He was one of twin sons born to Frances Mechler Miller and Henry Bru Miller on June 26, 1951, in Hondo, Texas.

Paul attended Hondo High School and went on to graduate from Texas A&M University. He earned a degree in Engineering Technology and was a proud member of the Corp of Cadets. He received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force upon graduation from Texas A&M. He served 12 years as a navigator on C130 aircraft and attained the rank of Captain. After his service in the Air Force, he continued his career as a civil servant with the Department of Defense.

He was a proud and loyal Aggie and a Garner State Park “Garner Bum” spending time at the park with friends dancing the “Garner whip”. Paul believed that kindness above all else is what counts most. Because of his kind-hearted personality, he had many dear friends throughout his life – he never knew a stranger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports on TV.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathryn “Kathy” Langford Miller; brother, Mark Wayne Miller; and sister, Frances Ruth Elliot.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Runde Miller of South Dakota; twin brother, Peter Martin Miller of Hondo; daughters, Tisha M. Pettibon of Boerne and Amber M. Butters of Pennsylvania; nieces, Paula Miller Barden, Tobi Taub and Tina Montemayor; and nephew, Eric Miller.

Graveside Memorial service will be at 11:00am, Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

In remembrance of Paul, his family has set up a memorial fund with the Texas A&M Association of Former Students.
