Lisa Ellen Pantuso
JUNE 9, 1962 – JULY 30, 2020

Lisa Ellen Pantuso of Arlington, Texas passed away at home on Thursday, July 30, at the age of 58. She was born in Dallas on June 9, 1962; graduated from Sunset High School in 1980; and earned a B.S. in special education from Texas A&M University in 1984 and a M.Ed. in school counseling from Dallas Baptist University in 2007. She taught in the special education department at Martin High School for 21 years. A loving mother, she had three sons -- Phillip, Nicholas, and Patrick -- of whom everyone says she was very proud.

Lisa was known for her selflessness, her gentle spirit, and her bright smile. She never met a person she did not see the good in. She put others' needs before her own, and was quick to offer help to anyone in need, no matter what was going on in her life. Her generosity extended to the classroom, where in addition to her regular teaching role, she worked with teenage mothers and children with learning disabilities. She is remembered by her former colleagues as a tireless advocate for her students' success. At home, Lisa delighted in spending time with her boys, especially around the holidays, when all three of them would return to Arlington and the Hallmark Channel would run Christmas movies nonstop. She liked playing Bunco with her friends, talking for hours on the phone with her mom, watching cute animal videos, and adding to her collection of decorative crosses. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Community, a devoted dog mom and dog grandmother, and believed that everything happens for a reason. She is remembered by her sons as a source of love, compassion, warmth, advice, support, and encouragement.

Lisa was preceded in death by her brother, Gary, and her father, Charles. She is survived by her sons, Phillip, Nicholas, and Patrick, and daughter-in-law, Jessica; her mother, Maudeen, and brother, Randall; her ex-husband, Victor; her nieces, Vanessa, Jessica, and Aubrey; her aunt, Elizabeth; and cousins, other relatives, friends, and coworkers. A visitation and rosary will be held Wednesday, August 5 from 5-8 p.m. at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Rd., Arlington. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, August 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Parish, 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington. She will be interred at Waldrop Cemetery in Fairplay, Texas.
