James Henry Bice
April 10, 1941 - April 12, 2020

James “Jim” Henry Bice, of Tyler, succumbed to cancer Resurrection Sunday 2020. He had been in treatment at MD Anderson in Houston since 2017. Jim grew up in Palestine, Texas, graduating from Palestine High School in 1959 and then Texas A&M University in 1964. Jim was an international businessman who worked for Glacier Industries and APV Crepaco before retiring in 2001.

Jim was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pamela Conaway Bice of Tyler; son, Jeff Bice of Tyler and wife Stefanie; daughter, Jenny Bice Bates of Round Rock and husband Kenneth; six grandchildren, Joshua Bice, Alexandra Bice, Madeline Bice, Hayden Bates, Cambell Bates and Kinley Bates; and brother, Dick Bice of Sherman and wife Janie. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Bice and sister, Kay Bice Gandy.
Jim had a strong relationship with God and believed in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jim is now seeing his Redeemer face to face in heaven.

Jim understood the command to make disciples of all nations and invested his life teaching others to follow Jesus. He took every opportunity to teach and lead others toward Christ, his family first and then to others as they lived in Austin, Chicago, Singapore, Minnesota, Colorado, and Tyler.

Our memorial and celebration to the Lord for Jim’s life will come after the threat of the COVID 19 virus is over. It will be held at Sylvania Church, of which Jim was a member. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial gifts can be made to missions at SylvaniaChurch.com/give or to missions at BethelBible.com/give.
