Arvel Gayle Sandel (Toby)
June 6, 1937 - October 14, 2020
Arvel Gayle Sandel, 83, known to all as Toby, Dad and Papa passed away peacefully on October 14th 2020. Toby was born in Huntsville, Texas the eldest son of the late Emmet Arvel and Ruby Gayle Viser Sandel. He was a good son and brother to Marlyn Sandel Cunningham and the late Corkey Sandel.
A 1959 graduate of Texas A&M, he was a proud Aggie. He was a Captain in the Air Force and a high school Algebra/Calculus teacher before retiring to Godley to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He was smart and could talk about anything. He loved high school and college football. He was easy going, a quite guy that had a very generous heart. He was a good dad.
He is twice widowed and is survived by sons Mark Sandel, Mike Sandel and wife Angie, daughter Susan and husband Mike Palmer and stepdaughter April and husband John King. Many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren. He was our dad and we loved him and we will miss him forever, he leaves behind for us to remember and remind our little ones that family is forever.
