Dr. Frank Edmund Berngen
December 1, 1943 - October 25, 2020
Dr. Frank E. Berngen went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 25th surrounded by his four children. A man who loved the Lord and his family. Frank enjoyed sharing stories and giving advice while never meeting a stranger. His spirit is carried on by his four
children and 9 grandkids whose photos he shared with anyone around; Herman Berngen (wife Brandi, children Bethany, Andrew, and Jonathan), Edith (Edee) Cullen (husband Shawn, children James, Riley and Sierra), Ed Berngen (wife Tricia, children Mackenzie, Trent
and Janessa) and Jewel Haywoth (husband Hideyo).
Frank was serious most of the time, but he had his moments of humor and laughter. You may remember him and his late wife, Nancy, being a part of the Hee-Haw show during the Chillicothe Homecoming Variety Shows in the 90’s. Or yelling out an ear-piercing YEEEE-HAW
or a loud WHOOP-WHOOP anytime someone mentioned Texas A&M.
His children remember him as a father who always wanted to teach them new skills, stubborn at times, but fair, honest (even when they didn’t want to hear it), and most importantly always loving. He passionately and wholeheartedly loved his family, especially
his wife Nancy, whom he spoke of frequently.
He lived a full life and impacted many people. Frank was all about improving his community and helping others see their full potential. He was actively involved in the local Lion’s Club, Chillicothe Alumni Association, and Chillicothe Livestock Show. He was
also part of the Gideons, Quanah Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and an active member of First Baptist Church of Vernon.
Frank is reunited with his precious wife Nancy. Friends and family are invited to his visitation on Sunday, November 1st from 6-7 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church Vernon, TX on Monday, November 2nd at 11
am, and can be viewed on-line through Sullivan Funeral Home website, followed by a Masonic graveside service at the Chillicothe Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Gideons, Chillicothe Junior Livestock Show, and First Baptist Church Vernon.
Colossians 3:23-24 – Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
