Services for Bobby Glenn Alexander, age 84 of Mt. Pleasant will be 11 A.M., Thursday, October 15, 2020 at First Baptist Church Mt. Pleasant with Dr. Clint Davis and Dr. David Rose officiating. Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.

Bobby passed away on October 11, 2020 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He was born on April 23, 1936 in Mineola, Texas to Claude and Ruby Bruner Alexander.

He and his family moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1938, where his parents opened up the “Hillbilly Restaurant” and “Alexander’s Café”. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1954. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Management with a minor in Range Management in 1958 from Texas A & M University. After graduation, he went to work with the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife as a field biologist and his first assignment was in Fairfield, Texas where he met and in 1959 married his wife, June Carolyn Long of 61 years. In 1960 he became a proud dad of twins, Jill and Bobby. Bobby retired from the Wildlife Department with 34 years of service. After retirement he attained his real-estate license and went to work for Redfearn’s real-estate for several years.

Bobby was a member of the First Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday school director and Deacon. He was a Scoutmaster, member of the Optimist Club and served in the National Guard as 1st lieutenant, 36th Infantry Division.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother, Claude Alexander, Jr., and sister-in-law, Lucretia Alexander.

He is survived by his wife, June Alexander; daughter, Jill Tucker of Daingerfield; son, Bobby G. Alexander, Jr. of Avinger, grand-children, Nicholas Alexander of Leesburg, Seth Alexander and his wife Elizabeth of Mt. Pleasant, Dillon Alexander and their mother, Regina Alexander both of Mt. Pleasant; step-granddaughter, Tiffany Tucker Rhoades and husband Mike of Kingwood; step-grandson, Cody Tucker and wife Stephanie of Krum; two great grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren, eight great-great step grandchildren; sister Marianne Casey of Mt. Pleasant; brother Thomas Alexander and wife Nancy of Mt. Pleasant and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank all his caregivers, Troycer, Bertha and Lajuana for giving of their time and care and a special thank you to Betty Miles for her compassion, care and for just loving Bobby during these last few years and for Chambers Hospice for providing care and support for him and his family.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you make donations to Mt. Pleasant First Baptist Church, Building Fund and or The Mt. Pleasant Lions Club.
