Jacqualine "Renee" Bottoms '76 October 9, 2020 12:01 PM updated: October 9, 2020 12:26 PM

Jacqualine Renee Bottoms
MARCH 20, 1944 – SEPTEMBER 22, 2020

On Sept, 22, 2020, my sweet, precious Jacqualine Renee Bottoms entered the presence of her Savior and Lord, whom she loves with all her heart. She had a full and fruitful life! She was a Proverbs 31:10-31 wife! She graduated from Baylor University School of Dental Hygiene, Texas A&M School of Journalism, Bryan, TX and Baylor University School of Law, Waco, TX.

She was an attorney in the oil business in Houston, TX and started her own family practice. During that time, she battled successfully through cancer by God's grace. Having put her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, she became a faithful member of Cypress Bible Church where she met her husband Richard(Rick), who found that he could no longer tell Aggie or lawyer jokes. Leaving her law practice, we moved to Chattanooga, TN (Yes, Rick is writing this!) where Renee joined the staff of Leadership Ministries World Wide, editing "The Preacher's Outline and Sermon Bible" for seventeen years in various Bible translations.

Her work has gone out throughout the world to assist those who cannot get Biblical training but are called to share God's Word. Her joy was teaching ladies Bible studies at Grace Baptist Church and encouraging individual women in their everyday walk with the Lord Jesus. Ladies, her journal is full of your names and her prayers for you, retiring end of Jan. she fought through her final battle with joy, knowing she would be with her Savior, with sadness, leaving all of us whom she loved. She is the godliest women I know. She was always praying specifically for others. She was diligent at studying God's word. She was loving and diligent in taking care of me(Rick)! There are no words to express how much I love her and what an honor it has been to be her husband.

She finished strong and left a fruitful legacy written in lives but her highest desire was that all praise, honor, thanks and glory be to her precious Lord Jesus who worked in and through her, Praise and thanks to all the kind wonderful nurses at Hearth Hospice for your loving care of my Renee. She loved and prayed for you all. Thanks to the folks at Pulmonary Services for your great service! Thank you church family and family for taking care of us so lovingly and graciously. God's grace and blessings to you all where needed!

She was preceded in death by her mother Martha J. Bates Haus and both grandparents.

She is survived by her very much loved husband, Richard(Rick) A. Bottoms; father, Charles N. Haus; brother, Charles(Chuck) N. Haus II; sister, Deborah Haus Nelson; niece, Alissa L. Hudson; nephew, Mitchell J. Haus. Renee requested that instead of flowers that donations be made to Frontline Fellowship or Leadership Ministries Worldwide. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at National Cemetery with Rev. Randall Collins officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19, we request that mask be worn and all Hamilton County and the CDC mandates be adhered to.

Mask must be worn at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
