Mr. Ben E. Killebrew, 76, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, after a short illness at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

Ben is survived by his husband, Michael J. Roussell; his son, Justin Killebrew of Paris, Texas; his daughter Shelly of Texas; his beloved brother, John Roussell and his wife Maureen of Vero Beach, Fla.; as well as a grandchild, several cousins and many nieces and nephews of Texas.

Ben served his country as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army. After a distinguished and decorated career, he retired to Rehoboth Beach, where he owned and operated The Shore Inn from 1995 to 2000. Ben also spend many hours volunteering at Beebe Medical Center and the Beebe Thrift Shop.

His wishes are to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. once the arrangements have been finalized and the family advised.

Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ben's memory to Beebe Healthcare, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach.
