Jesse Loye Boyett
MAY 21, 1927 – AUGUST 26, 2020

Jesse 'Jess' Loye Boyett, 93, of Lake Jackson, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.

He was born on May 21, 1927 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Jesse Matthew Boyett and Leah Belle Boyett. He grew up in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas. In 1945, Jesse enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country in World War II. After the war, he attended Lamar Junior College in Beaumont, and ran track for the school. He then transferred to Texas A&M, where he received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, "Go Aggies". He began his career with Dow Chemical in 1950 and retired from Dow in 1985. He married Doris Louise Johns of West Columbia on March 8, 1952; together they lived in Lake Jackson for 47 years.

Jess was a man of faith and lived his life with the utmost integrity, honor and love for his family and friends. As the scripture reads, “Greater Love hath no man than to lay down his life for his friends”. He was a deacon and a charter member of Shady Oaks/Second Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and served in countless other ways. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed spending time with them and supporting them in whatever they were involved in. Jess was one of a kind, had that Fighting Aggie Spirit, a friend to many but most of all a great Husband, Dad, Father-in-law, Papa, and Great-Grandpaw to Adi, Poppy, and Flo.

Jess is now reunited with his wife Doris; infant daughter Barbara Jean; his parents; and many other family and friends.

Those left to carry on Jess's memory are his son Jerry and wife Lisa; granddaughters, Macy and Emily Boyett; grandson Simon Shao; and other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to his extended Church Family, Men's Breakfast Group, Harbor Hospice in Houston, Country Village in Angleton, IPH Home Health, and all our friends for their loving care and support.

In the words of Jess, "I say GIG 'EM"!
