Phillip Graham '13 September 7, 2020 12:46 PM updated: September 7, 2020 12:48 PM

Phillip Thomas Graham
March 24, 1991 - August 27, 2020

Phillip Thomas Graham passed away suddenly in his sleep on August 27, 2020, at the young age of 29. Son, brother, and friend to many, Phillip made an enormous impact on each life he touched in the short time he was here. He relished enticing people into spirited discussions, and he filled any room he entered with his hearty laughter. Underneath his bold exterior was a heart of gold. His creativity, energetic spirit, strong work ethic, and love for family and friends will be missed.

After graduating from homeschooling and classes at SAC Day and HAAC Day in 2009 and then graduating from Texas A&M after two victory laps in 2015 (class of 2013), he launched a budding career in Emergency Health and Safety, acquiring many initials after his name (FSO, RSO, LSO, CSP, CHMM). He worked for SET in Houston, TX; Shell in Martinez, CA; and finally, Skorpios in Austin, TX. He was a thought leader and colleagues from across the country sought his advice for innovative solutions.

Phillip's childhood included a lot of outdoor play and a menagerie of pets and farm animals. He was a precocious child who read a lot and had a very compassionate and sensitive nature. He loved playing with friends, scouting, camping, fishing, and hunting. He was very proud of achieving Eagle Scout and serving as SPL his senior year of high school during Kenneth's first year as a Boy Scout. As a teenager, he began volunteering at the Bexar-Bulverde Volunteer Fire Department where he made many lifelong friends and set the stage for his career. He continued all of those interests into adulthood and added a passion for smoking meat and barbecuing as well as for guns and Second Amendment Rights. He was also becoming quite the gourmet chef. Phillip was extremely gregarious and spent his free time around as many people as he could. Even during the lockdown, he was with friends through social media, texting, and phone calls. He interacted with a surprising number of his family and friends on the last day of his life and even more within the last week of his life. He seemed to keep in touch with everyone. Once you were Phillip's friend, you were his friend for life. Sadly, his life was too short.

Phillip is survived by his parents, Stephen and Sandra Graham, his siblings, Julia and Justin Poirier and Kenneth and Sarah Graham, his grandmother, Luren Gavlick, and a large extended family.
