Roll Call Tribute

Marvin "Red" Mixon '49 August 27, 2020 2:20 PM updated: September 3, 2020 9:57 AM

Marvin “Red” Mixon.

He succumbed to Pneumonia on May 5, 2020.

He was a graduate of the Class of 1949 and received a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He was a member of the Corps of Cadets and was a Captain in "D" Battery.

Marvin always loved Texas A&M. He pursued his love of flying throughout his life, as well as his love of writing. He became a published author after retiring from Hughes Aircraft. Marvin was a wonderful father. He was a maverick and a doer. He had a great sense of humor. He taught his children to be strong, persevere, follow their passions, and be independent.

Marvin is survived by his three children, Peter, Tracy, and Christopher, and his three grandchildren Max, Caroline, and Cameron. He lost his beloved wife Nancy, four years ago-his confidant, and best friend...

We love him and miss him greatly.
