Allan Bryan Cassens
December 26, 1940 - August 16, 2014

Allan Bryan Cassens, 73, of Houston, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 in a Houston Hospital. Services celebrating Allan’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Dennis Turnipseed will officiate. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud.

Mr. Cassens was born December 26, 1940 in Bryan to Marvin and Lenora Koym Cassens. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan and Texas A&M College(University) in 1962. He was a diehard Aggie, and was very proud to wear the Cadet Corps senior boots. He married Frances Turnipseed on December 30, 1960.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Frances on August 23, 1997.

He is survived by two sons: Brian Cassens and wife Joni of Lewisville and Kevin Cassens of Houston. Two daughters, Cynthia LeDonne of Houston and Patti Cassens of Austin. Two Grandsons, Austin LeDonne of San Marcos and Hunter LeDonne of Austin, one sister, Joyce Marshall and husband Max of Knoxville, TN, Two sister in laws, Imogene Burton and husband Randy of Rosebud, and Glenda Acklen of Kyle, a brother in law, Milton Turnipseed and wife Peggy of Walburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was married briefly to Myra Brown of Sugar Land.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Parkinson’s Foundation

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
