Dr. Henry Buford Pace, 85, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Swing Bed Unit of the Yalobusha General Hospital, Water Valley, MS.
Born in Thomasville, TN, Dr. Pace and his family had lived in Oxford since 1968. A retired professor of Physiology and Pharmacology from the University of Mississippi, Dr. Pace was also the Director of Osteopathic Medicine for Mississippi. He was a cattle farmer
and a tree farmer. A veteran of the United States Army, Dr. Pace was a member of the Elk Lodge in St. Louis, MO and of the First Presbyterian Church of Oxford. He took great pleasure in spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015, 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Oxford. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Ann Kelly officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford
Memorial Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Joe (Marsha) Pace of Oxford, MS; one daughter, Jennifer Pace of Oxford, MS; one sister, Anita Williams of Albany, OR; two granddaughters, Lauren T. Pace and Mallory L. Pace; two sisters-in-law, Pat Ritter of Nashville, TN and Evalyn
Pace of Bonneville, OR.
His parents, Henry E. and Louise B. Pace, and his wife, Phyllis R. Pace preceded Dr. Pace in death.
