Paul Andrew Bruce
August 13, 1969 - July 23, 2020

Paul Andrew Bruce (1969-2020), after seven months to the day, he succumbed to the debilitating stroke he suffered on December 23 after restrictions were placed on the types of surgeries that could be performed in hospitals due to the covid virus.

Paul was 50 years old. He was the son of Donald Bruce and Ruth Millsap Bruce. Paul was born on August 13, 1969 in Houston, Texas. He departed this life on July 23, 2020. Paul lived in Brazoria County all his life.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bruce; grandparents ,John and Zelma (Westmoreland) Millsap, A.V. and Lavada (Childress) Bruce; uncle and aunt, Travis and Anne (Huie) Millsap; and cousin, Sawyer Sweeten.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ruth Bruce; aunt and uncle, Bill and Betty (Bruce) Awalt; cousin, Gerry and Kay (Evans) Millsap; and many other cousins; and the family cats, Yoda, Patches, Tommy and Henry.

To all of Paul’s fellow workers at Southern Service Inc. and Dow Chemical where Paul was a reciprocating compressor analyst, thank you for your prayers and concerns during Paul’s illness and a special thanks to his friend there, Carl Harris.

Paul graduated from Brazoswood High and Texas A&M. He made and kept many friends over the years. He was especially close to his Aggie Church friends, class of ’93.

Paul had many talents: he could draw from memory; he played the guitar and enjoyed restoring classic cars. But above all these things, Paul was a Christian and understood that all of these didn’t compare to the promise of a better life that was through faith and obedience to Gods commands. Paul was a faithful member of the Clute Church of Christ where he would occasionally give sermons.

Graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Restever Memorial Park at 5103 N. Texas Ave., Bryan, Texas 77803.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his memory to SPCA of Brazoria County at 141 Canna Lane, Lake Jackson, Texas 77566 or online at https://spcabc.kindful.com/
