STEPHENSON, -- LONNIE F., B.S. Engineering Technology Electronics, Texas A&M University 1981. Age 62, resident of Benson Arizona.

Father: Lt Col. U.S. Army Lonnie F. Stephenson Jr. (Deceased) Mother: Muriel L. Stephenson PhD English Literature, University of North Dakota (Deceased) Sister: Melissa Stephenson, of Queens NY (diseased). Lonnie is survived by his spouse Vicky Cole Stephenson and his two children - Jacob P. Stephenson, Corporal U.S. Army (Retired) Haley R. Stephenson, both currently residing in Tucson Arizona.

Upon ensuing a fierce and brief battle with Bone Marrow Cancer and Acute Liver Failure, Lonnie passed away suddenly June 21, 2020. With his loving wife Vicky Cole Stephenson and family at his side at their home in Benson Arizona. Lonnie’s formative years were spent (summers) in Grand Forks North Dakota at the family cabin and in Albuquerque NM. Where he attended Manzano H.S. graduating in 1976. For his entire life, Lonnie loved the outdoors! As a Boy Scout, a Wrestler, and an avid Motorcycle Rider his driving spirt was epitomized by a philosophy of “go for it – what do you have to loose!” After graduating from Texas A&M University he worked for General Dynamics in Fort Worth Texas and then transferred to their San Diego Ca. office, where he met is first wife and mother of his children Kelly (Honeyman) Stephenson. Lonnie was a “Career Engineer” with over 35 years of expertise in the “Guided Missile Business.” Lonnie worked on a variety of military and government contracts and when he transferred to Raytheon Missile Systems based in Tucson AZ. he worked specifically on the Tomahawk and Patriot Cruise Missiles. With grown children now and divorced, Lonnie met (Respiratory Therapist) Vicky Cole in 2014. A true union of “Soul Mates” for each other given their shared passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Live Concerts, Travel and Adventure.

Lonnie and Vicky married in Hawaii in 2016, purchased their “Dream Ranch” in Benson Arizona and following his Retirement from Raytheon in 2018; proceeded to ride every stretch of highway and byway from Arizona, California, Colorado and New Mexico… In spite of his “lovable stubbornness” and penchant for perfection; Lonnie was a caring father and loving husband, as well as, a fiercely dedicated friend! He will be “forever missed” by all who can remember crossing paths with him, and especially his loved ones who had the great fortune of knowing him intimately.

There is no Service or Celebration of Life scheduled at this time and in accordance with his wishes, Lonnie elected cremation and his ashes will be spread by Vicky Cole Stephenson in the various places that they loved to visit.
