MARCH 16, 1920 – JUNE 13, 2020

A memorial service for Todd Weldon Berry, 100, of Canton, will be held July 10, 2020 at Crossroads Church in Canton with Pastor Mark Robinson officiating.

Mr. Berry passed away June 13, 2020 in Canton. He was born March 16, 1920 in Marietta, TX to William Patterson Berry and Fannie Susan Humphries Berry.

Todd was the youngest of eight children. He had four older sisters: Bessie Cate, Willie Viola, Mary and Pat; and three older brothers: Ralph, Dick and Bob. He graduated Naples High School in 1938 and then Texas A&M in 1948.

Mr. Berry proudly served in the US Navy during WWII from January 1942 until December 1945 on Battleship Texas. He was a Gunners Mate 1st Class. He also served in China with the Sino American Cooperative Association (SACO) as an instructor.

Todd Married Sybil Elizabeth Glasscock on November 26, 1947. They were blessed with two sons: Joe Berry and John Berry.

Mr. Berry served as the County Agricultural Agent for Van Zandt County from 1953 to 1980. He was instrumental in starting the VZ County Farm Bureau and VZ County Fair. Todd loved God, country, and family. He was an avid golfer, loved reading, sports and was 100% a Texas Aggie.

Todd is survived by his two sons: Joe and John; grandchildren: Amy and Godfrey Camilleri and Brian Adamski; great-grandchildren: Kylie Adamski, Isabel, Abigail and Aiden Camilleri; daughter-in-law, Linda Berry; loving friend, Ann Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Berry is preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Fannie Berry; wife of 68 1/2 years, Sybil; four sisters; three brothers; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A most special thank you to the staff and residents of Country Place Senior Living. Your love, care, and friendship has been a blessing. He loved you all.
