Roll Call Tribute

John Muzyka '92 June 25, 2020 2:32 PM updated: June 25, 2020 2:46 PM

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Muzyka on June 17, 2020. We will miss the free spirit that he poured into in Texas A&M, Texas Country Music, guitars and songwriting. John always appreciated his friends and was continually ready to make new ones. John is the son of Robert Muzyka and Anne Crook Muzyka (deceased) and was born in San Antonio on April 13, 1970. He graduated from Arlington High School as a member of the class of 1988. John was a proud graduate of the Texas A&M class of 1993. He was active in promoting Texas country music at several music venues especially the Dixie Chicken in College Station. John was a proud Aggie and contributed annually in constructing the A&M Bonfire. John worked in several industries, but his heart was always with the music industry. John is survived by his father Robert Muzyka (Linda Magazzine), sister Cindy Hazelbaker (husband Doug and nephews Cory and Kyle), his brother Bob (wife Amy and nieces Kelly and Ally), his Aunt Margaret (husband Greg (deceased), cousin Christine (husband Blake, extended cousins Morgan and Walker). John had a big heart and was a gift to his family and friends. John’s desire was that his remains be scattered among the Texas countryside. Rest in peace Johnny.
