Jack Russell
1939 - 2020

Jack Russell passed away April 22nd in Greenville, TX. Jack was born in Dallas, TX in 1939. He was raised near Dallas but spent much of his time in Farmersville, TX. Jack was always quick to share his stories of Farmersville and the wonderful times he had there.

Jack graduated in 1961 from Texas A&M University and was a member of the Corps of Cadets and was an exceptionally proud Aggie throughout his life.

Jack served in the US Army for several years, with his most enjoyable posting in Europe. While in the Army Jack was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Achievement.

While working in Nederland, TX he began the next chapter in his life when he met the love of his life, Linda. Jack and Linda began their love story, married and moved to Chicago. Together they enjoyed the city, advanced their careers and Jack achieved his law degree.

Jack and Linda decided to start a family and moved across the country to the idyllic city of San Marino, California. Jack was an executive at Unocal and made many lifelong friends there.Their two sons, John and James, were born there and were raised with exceptional love, caring and support. Jack also developed his love of dogs when he agreed to add "Fluffy", the Maltese, who was his constant companion for nearly 20 years. Jack made many lifelong friends from his work and neighborhood. Jack was well known for putting others first and always being there to support someone in need.

Later, they moved to The Woodlands, Texas. He took exceptional care of his family and his greatest pride was putting them first in everything he did. Jack and Linda later moved to Greenville, Texas and they added their beloved poodle "Sergeant" to their family. Jack worked at L3 where he would later retire from and greatly enjoyed all the people he got to work with there.

Jack was an exceptional husband and father and had a passion for reading, his BMW 2002 and walks with his dog. His greatest gifts were his easy-going advice, caring, kindness and compassion which he showed every day. Jack taught us all so much, gave us so much and and he loved us all dearly.

Jack is survived by his two sons, John and James, and his sister Molly. We all loved Jack so very much, and he will be greatly missed.

Jack was a supporter of both animal welfare and Texas A&M and the family asks that any one wishing to remember Jack consider making a donation to the Stevenson Center for Companion Animals at Texas A&M University.
