William David Reesby

1941-2020

William David Reesby, age 78, died May 21, 2020 after a long illness. He was born William David Romaine on December 12, 1941 in Sherman, Texas. His deceased wife was Barbara Ann Watson Reesby. His deceased parents were Mary Margaret Whitfill Reesby and adopted father Marion James Reesby. He is survived by his wife, Robbin R. Reesby; step-daughters Shannan Thompson, Samantha Oldham, and Stephanie Oldham; brother Ted Romaine II and his wife Bette Ann as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill and Barbara were married on March 23, 1968 at Ft. Dix, New Jersey and were married 49 years prior to her death and had no children. Bill and Robbin were married on May 13, 2020 in Richmond, TX. His university education was at Texas A&M University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Construction in 1966 and a Master of Business of Administration in Management in 1971. He was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as an officer from 1966 to 1969 and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. He had a varied career in building design and construction with several companies holding positions of purchasing/contracts manager, project manager, engineering manager, estimating manager and chief projects manager. These projects consisted of office buildings, shopping center, apartment complexes, condominiums, modular construction for remote locations, prisons, medical research facilities, pre-engineered metal buildings, fire stations, police stations, public health facilities, libraries, zoo facilities, emergency centers, entertainment facilities and city/county parks. He received a license from the State of Texas as a Professional Engineer in 1993. The last 19 years of his career (1987-2006) was with the City of Houston as a senior engineer, chief engineer, City Engineer for the Building Services Department, and ending as Director of Design & Construction Division of the Building Services Department retiring on April 1, 2006. Bill enjoyed reading, music, art, researching various subject and using computer applications.

A private Vigil will be held at Klein Funeral Home-Klein, Texas, 16131 Champion Forest Drive.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in the Mary Chapel on Thursday 6/4/2020 at 1:30PM.

Graveside services at Houston National Cemetery will be held private for the family.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that a memorial donation is made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church or the Barbara Ann and William D. Reesby ‘Corps of Cadets Endowed Scholarship(contact Tom Pool, Texas A&M Foundation at 800-392-3310) or a charity of your choice.
