February 7, 1937 - September 8, 2019

Robert Wayne Coker, 82, Born February 7,1937 in Dallas, Texas Passed away September 8, 2019 in Plano, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Mary Fay Allison Coker, 2 daughters Catherine Coker Hare (husband Tracy) and Carol Coker Rebecchi (husband Rob), three grandchildren, Robert Michael Hare (wife Jeanne), Allison Hare Ballard (husband Bryce) and Audrey Hare.

Mr. Coker served nearly 22 years as a police officer in the Dallas Police Department. The last 3 years and retiring in the rank of sergeant. Mr. Coker served nearly 5 years in the U S Army, the first 3 years assigned to the 101st Airborne Division where he qualified as a paratrooper. Mr. Coker was a life member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and held the Minuteman Award which is the highest award National Society can present. He was also a prior State President of the Texas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and held the Patriot medal, which is the highest award the State Society can present. He was also a prior member of American Mensa, he was a member of Waterview Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m at Restland Memorial Chapel with his grandson Robert Michael Hare officiating. Interment to follow in Restland Cemetery located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 form 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m at Restland Funeral Home. The family requests that memorial be directed to TXSSARPATRIAOTS fund P.O Box 84529 Pearland, Texas 77584-0012
