Jim Mitchell Russell
October 22, 1948 - February 4, 2020

James "Jim" Mitchell Russell, of Georgetown, passed away on February 4, 2020.

To honor Jim and his life a Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Georgetown on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 A.M.

Jim was born to Ray Howard Russell, Jr. and Euwentha Mitchell Russell on October 22, 1948 in Houston, Texas. Jim was valedictorian of his graduating class in Marlin, Texas and then went on to graduate at Texas A & M University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with Honors. He served our country in the United States Army from 1971-1977. He retired in 2015 after working 38 years as a Chemical Engineer.

Robin Patterson came into Jim's life and they married on May 24, 2008 in Kempner, Texas.

Always a man of faith, Jim served on the Deacon Board and as Chairman of Deacons at First Baptist Church of Killeen. Jim and Robin moved to Sun City in 2017 where Jim became active in his community and joined First Baptist Georgetown. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school class and loved being a part of the Eleos Life Group.

A grandfather of ten, Jim enjoyed spending time with all of his family. He also loved fishing almost as much as he loved Aggie football!

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Euwentha and Ray H. Russell.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Robin Russell; daughter, Laura Frazier and her husband Justin; son, Mark Russell and his wife Courtney; brother, Chuck and his wife Susie; sister, Cindy Russell Strong and her husband Rob; stepson, Justin Patterson and his wife, Amanda; stepdaughter Jenny Adcock and her husband Russ; grandsons: Travis Hunt, Carson Rogers, Drew Rogers, Westin Russell, Laken Russell, Beau Patterson and Wyatt Adcock; granddaughters: Bailyn Russell, Ari Russell and Macy Patterson.

The Emmaus Reunion Group will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Churches of Killeen and Georgetown.
