Richard Earl Damon
APRIL 10, 1938 – APRIL 10, 2020
DAMON, Richard Earl Richard Earl Damon, age 82, passed away peacefully on his birthday, April 10, 2020. He was the kindest, funniest, most gentle man. He never raised his voice, saw the best in every situation and treated everyone like an old friend. He
loved anything electronic, detective movies, cold beer and his alma mater Texas A&M. Most of all he loved his family & his friends. Dick was born on April 10, 1938 in Houston, TX to Earl & Adele Damon. Following in the footsteps of his father and uncle he
attended Texas A&M where he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets. He graduated in 1960. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1963. He met the love of his life, Phyllis, on an airplane. They married in 1971 and spent the next 49 years raising a
family and enjoying their grandchildren. In 1979, Dick started his own recruiting business Damon & Associates. He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling the world with Phyllis and their close friends. He
leaves behind his wife Phyllis, three children, Suzanne McIntire; Lindsey Dennis and husband Brent; Scott Damon and wife Cristin; grandchildren Shaylie McIntire, Colin & Drew Dennis. Dick spent the last year battling congestive heart failure. He never complained
and always remained positive. He left this world just as he lived it, peaceful and easy-going. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at The CHF Clinic and BS&W's The Heart Hospital for the tender loving care given to Dick at every
point of his journey. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association or Take Me Home Pet Rescue. Due to COVID-19, there will only be a family service at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
