NOLAN'S OBITUARY
U.S. Veteran
Nolan Gotcher, 88, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on March 5, 2020, with his son and daughter at his side.

Nolan was born in Christoval, Texas to Mary Nola and Lee Morgan Gotcher on June 20, 1931. He was the youngest of their four children which included Newana Trovero, Joel Carr “JC” Gotcher, and Jimmy Lee Gotcher. He was raised in San Angelo, where he graduated high school, lettering in baseball.

After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served in Korea during the war. Upon completion of his tour in Korea, he was stationed in North Carolina, where he met his wife to be, Lottie Bell Jessup. Nolan and Lottie were married in 1954 and soon moved to College Station, Texas, where Nolan attended Texas A&M College, earning a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1958. They then moved to Pasadena, TX, where Nolan had accepted a job with Armco Steel. In 1965 Nolan joined E.R.Carpenter Co., where he had a successful career becoming the Vice President, and General Manager of the Texas division. He subsequently moved to take the helm of the North Carolina division to get the family closer to Lottie’s parents. They remained in North Carolina until his retirement in 1991.

Nolan was a man of faith. Not only did he lead his family to church, but he also lived a life personifying honesty, integrity, and service. His family is comforted to know he has been welcomed to a better place.

Nolan is survived by his wife, Lottie Gotcher, his son Darrell Gotcher and wife Katherine, his daughter Laura Gotcher and husband Scott. Survivors also include his three beloved grandchildren Will Warden and wife Laura, Caroline Warden, and Kara Gotcher.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Westminster St. Augustine in the near future.
