Obituary of Beverly Reynolds Bame
Beverly Reynolds Bame of Houston, Texas passed away on March 2, 2020 at the age of 59 from sudden complications stemming from over twenty years of progressive chronic illness.

Born on November 23, 1960 in Harlingen, Texas, Beverly grew up in La Feria, Texas as the baby among three girls. She attended Texas A&M University beginning in 1979 where she met her beloved husband Philip, whom she married on August 8, 1981. Her only child, Jeffrey, was born to her on July 23, 1983. This brought together some of the passions that would highlight her life: the love of her family and her passion for Texas A&M sports.

Beverly is a woman whose radiant joy and childlike humor are surpassed only by her unwavering faith and her selfless service to all she encountered. Always a devoted wife, she served others as a hospital nurse, left nursing to be a stay-at-home mom, and later impacted lives as a junior high teacher, a church volunteer (especially with high school youth), and a court-appointed child advocate. As her only son Jeffrey devoted his life to the Church as a Catholic priest in the final years of her life, even as the increasing burden of her illnesses began to limit her activity, she in turn devoted herself to being an intercessor in prayer for her loved ones as well as the needs of the country, the world, and the Church, especially for priests, seminarians, and religious vocations.

She is a mother figure to numerous people who do not share her blood. All who encountered her were impacted by her empathy, patience, and desire, even at her peaks of suffering, to show her unconditional love for others through acts of service. Known by all for her red hair, her fiery personality manifested itself not only in her impassioned sense of justice for others and protective instinct for her loved ones, but also in her competitive drive and the childlike spirit that made her the life of every party.

Beverly is survived her husband Philip; her son, Rev. Jeffrey; parents, Jesse and Virginia Reynolds; sisters, Diana Snow and Barbara Townsend; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends whom she considered to be part of her family.

A visitation will commence on Friday, March 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the St. Andrew Discipleship Center at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 19222 Tomball Parkway, in Houston, Texas. A Vigil Service and rosary will be prayed beginning at 7:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Beverly on Saturday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St. Joseph Parkway in downtown Houston, Texas with Rev. Jeffrey L. Bame presiding. The Rite of Committal will immediately follow the at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, TX.

Memorial donations in memory of Beverly may be made to the Spondylitis Association of America (www.spondylitis.org).
