Christopher Roderick Brient graduated from Jones High School in Houston, TX in 1997. During his time at Texas A&M as an Ag Journalism major, he became a member of the Pi Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and Fade to Black Dance Ensemble. As one of the pioneers in our small dance community, Christopher prepared a proposal that was accepted by the Student Rec Center to offer dance instruction classes to their schedule.

Christopher is known around the world as a first-class performer in Step Afrika!, a dance company that serves as the official cultural ambassador for the United States of America and is featured in the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture. While in Step Afrika!, Christopher traveled to 49 states and more than 30 countries as a teaching and performing artist to hundreds of thousands of people. Before retiring, he served as the company's Assistant Artistic Director and had a chance to perform at his alma mater in Rudder Auditorium.
